The Berlin Kollwitz Museum was founded 35 years ago and has had successful years here at Fasanenstreet 24. In 2022, a new chapter in the history of the museum begins with the move to the Theater Building at Charlottenburg Palace.

The museum was founded by art dealer and collector Hans Pels-Leusden, who was a legend in the West Berlin gallery scene.

Collection

The museum’s art collection provides a broad overview of the Kollwitz’s entire oeuvre, which is presented chronologically in the permanent exhibition.

Association of Friends

The “Association of Friends” has supported the museum since 1987. Members expect not only special events in the house but also interesting excursions into Berlin’s cultural scene.

The association “Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum and graphic collection of Hans Pels-Leusden” founded in 1986 runs the museum. The Käthe Kollwitz Foundation, which supports the association, has existed since 2020. The State of Berlin supports the museum institutionally.
